4 Poofs and a Piano booked for Glastonbury

4 Poofs and a Piano will be performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

It was revealed in an interview of band member Ian Parkin by the Sheffield Telegraph, that the gay quartet, who rose to fame as the house band on The Jonathan Ross show will be touring the UK, and appearing at Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Festival this summer.

This is the idea of the tour which runs until late April and then the group will be performing at Glastonbury and then the Edinburgh Festival in the summer.

Two Door Cinema Club to play Glastonbury

Two Door Cinema Club will be playing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The Northern Irish trio are booked to play the Pyramid Stage on Friday 24th June, the same day as U2 and Elbow according to NME.

The full Glastonbury Festival 2011 line-up hasn’t been released yet, but you can see a list of the acts who have so far self confirmed themselves on our line-up page

Dan Mangan to play Glastonbury

Dan Mangan has confirmed that he will be performing at this year’s festival.

The Canadian indie folk-rock singer is to play Glastonbury’s Other Stage on Sunday 26th June according to his webisite,

Elbow officially confirmed for Glasto by Emily Eavis

No one will be shocked to learn that Elbow are now confirmed to play Glastonbury in June.

On Twitter, Emily Eavis tweetedWe’re delighted that the mighty Elbow have confirmed.”.

The British band, fronted by Guy Garvey, who confirmed they’re playing in Q Magazine last month, and the Lauren Lavern Show on BBC 6Music this morning, will play before U2 on the Pyramid Stage on Friday 24th June.

They will be play at the same time Mumford & Sons play The Other Stage, causing a clash headache for many people.

Dub Pistols booked for Glastonbury

Dub Pistols have confirmed they will be playing Glastonbury Festival in June.

The London group have listed themselves as playing Glasto on Saturday at 7pp on their MySpace page.

Biffy Clyro self confirm for Glastonbury 2011

Biffy Clyro Have confirmed in an interview with bestnewbands.com, that they will be playing Glastonbury this summer,

We are playing Bamboozle actually, in America which is pretty exciting to get to play that festivals as there are a lot of really cool bands, and obviously we’re holding out for offers from other American festivals.  But over in Britain we’re playing Sonisphere which is really cool, and we’re doing Glastonbury and a couple of cool European festivals too.

Glastonbury Festival have announced 12 more acts for this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

- Janelle Monae
- Mumford & Sons
- Primal Scream
- Warpaint

Eels self confirm

American Rock bad Eels have confirmed on their website that they will be playing Glastonbury this year.

The band, who had a UK hit with Novocaine For The Soul, are booked to play on Sunday 26th June.

Since we published what we knew of the Glastonbury 2011 line-up on 17th February, there has been a lot of new acts added to the list.

Everyone already knows about U2 being confirmed as the Friday night Pyramid Stage headliners, but here are a few acts you may not have heard about, who, over the last ten days have either confirmed themselves or have been confirmed by a reliable 3rd party as performing at Glasto this year .

Don McLean self confirms for Glastonbury

American singer Don McLean has confined on Australian Radio that he’ll be playing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

I’ll be going this Summer back to England to perform on the biggest festival in Europe, and maybe even in the world,  called Glastonbury. We’re going to be starring on that on Saturday night.

A field full of people singing along to American Pie is bound to be one of the Glastonbury “moments” of this year’s festival.
