Michael Eavis has announced that the car parks for next year’s festival will open on Tuesday night in the hope that it will prevent the 20-mile tailback which was experienced on the Wednesday of this year’s Glasto.

Portable toilets and food stalls will be available to those who arrive before the gates open at 9am.

Eavis said although people will have to wait in their cars, it will be better than “being lined up by the side of the road for six hours”.

Michael would also like more people to travel there by public transport as it saves “a hell of a lot of traffic and saves a lot of space”.
