According to Somerset Police, the number of reported crimes at this year’s Glastonbury Festival increased due to the sunny weather

Sommerset Police’s recently released figures show that reported crime in 2008 was up 78% on the year before, with 751 reported crimes compared to 422 in 2007.

Superintendent Adrian Combs said: “The better the weather the higher the crime levels. This year’s were similar to those in 2003 when there was also good weather.”

Despite more crime being reported to police, arrests were only up slightly with only 16 more than in 2007.
